Pediatric Functional Medicine Clinic

Functional medicine aims to understand and treat the root causes of chronic diseases by considering each individual as a whole. It promotes an integrated approach: biology, genetics, environment, nutrition, lifestyle, and mental health are analyzed to guide targeted, effective, and sustainable interventions. It is a medicine of “why” rather than “what.” A medicine of prevention, empowerment, and transformation

“Let food be thy medicine.” – Hippocrates

Prevention begins in the early years of life, and every family deserves the knowledge, support, and tools they need to make informed choices. By targeting the causes and not just the symptoms, it is possible to transform children’s health trajectories—and offer them a more balanced, peaceful, and healthy future.

Dr. Almasi primarily treats:

  • Children with:
    • ADHD, autism spectrum disorders (ASD)
    • Digestive problems, eczema, asthma
    • Toxic overload, food sensitivities, immune disorders
  • Families who wish to:
    • Better understand the root causes of health imbalances
    • Implement a more appropriate diet
    • Create an environment conducive to their children’s optimal development
    • Be supported in making a lasting shift toward better health

A gentle, scientific approach tailored to your situation

  • Detailed medical history of the child (pregnancy, birth, environment, diet, sleep, behavior)
  • Tailored functional questionnaire
  • Exploration of family lifestyle, stress factors, parent-child relationship
  • Recommendations for targeted tests if necessary
  • Practical advice on nutrition and micronutrition
  • Recommendations on lifestyle, environment, and toxic load
  • Strategies tailored to each stage of childhood
  • Adjustments as progress is made
  • Support in implementing changes
  • Parental support and health education for the whole family

In addition, we work to reduce inflammation, which is a source of pain, with a holistic approach (nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management) based on lifestyle medicine.

Dr. Julie Almasi

An engineer by training, Dr. Julie Almasi began her career with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and environmental engineering from McGill University. Her analytical mind and scientific rigor shaped her approach to health: seeing the system as a whole, understanding interactions, and finding concrete and sustainable solutions.

Driven by a desire to contribute to the well-being of the population, she then pursued medical training at the University of Montreal, where she developed a passion for family medicine. Her clinical career gradually shifted toward pediatric and metabolic issues, such as childhood obesity, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders.
